American Ukrainian Medical Project (AUMP) is a volunteer team of medical workers and many others from America, Ukraine and around the world working together to improve healthcare in both countries through on-site training, technical exchanges and open communication. We are actively engaged in many projects with the help of numerous medical partners, supporting organizations and generous individuals. Nevertheless, we can always use additional help. If you are interested in helping, or know someone with needed expertise, please put them in touch with us.
We perform histology, pathology, and immunohistochemistry training, histology equipment transfers, medical supply and equipment transfers and training exchanges in both America and Ukraine. We work with hospitals and oncodispensaries (regional cancer hospitals), across Ukraine and the Ukrainian Academy of Medicine. By 2004 AUMP was actively working with hospitals in Kyiv (Kiev), Chernihiv, Lviv and Kherson. Potential new partners have expressed interest in Rivne, Donetsk and Khrakiv oblast.
We started in 1998 as part of a USAID breast cancer project which brought two Ukrainian pathologists to Seattle, Washington. What began as a promise of mutual assistance between new friends from East and West has now become the nonprofit corporation American Ukrainian Medical Project. Please browse through our website to learn more about our Project, its Mission and how we are advancing healthcare technology. If you would like to help make a tangible and important difference visit our Donations or Volunteer Opportunities pages. Thank you for your interest in AUMP.
